I just had a conversation with a very distinguished store manager (leadership) and the security officer of that Store (again, manager) both are they/them to me and yet are male, compassionate individuals.
And I told the security officer why I gently said “thank you” as I went into the store. It has to do with another they/them male knocking on my window asking for money. Now in that case, it isn’t a big deal in the part of town I was within.
But so many times a man knocking on your window in a parking lot is not a sign of safety for women and their children who are heterosexual generally-speaking.
You know why. Don’t make me repeat stats. #TARA
The security officer hovered respectfully and ready. He didn’t wear a mask. He is ready in season and out of season, and he knows his life is on the line as he works and is paid for that store’s safety. He is well-trained. Any woman is in the same position today. And now I will tell you: both men they/them are black and beautiful.
Common Valor is We are We. Communistic soldiers of rape and murder is this other thingie we are experiencing in 50 states. Do you understand? Good. Fewer words is better than either too many or none.
